Le Mans 2000
Looking into the Cockpit of Laurent Aiello

The countdown is on: Only eight weeks are left to the start of the Le Mans 24 Hour race. But before that, Audi tackles the pre-practice at the Sarthe on 30 April. This weekend is of great importance, despite not holding the status of last year´s pre-qualification. The Le Mans circuit partly consists of public country roads, and therefore it is the only testing opportunity on the track.

"This practice is crucial for us. Only here can we reach the high-speeds typical of Le Mans," says Head of Audi Sport, Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich. The objective is to gather data from the vehicle at its latest stage of development and find an optimal set-up for the race on 17/18 June.

On Saturday and Sunday (29 and 30 April) the Sport Press Lounge, directly above the Audi pits (offering several working places), will be open for accredited journalists. Practice for the prototypes: Sunday from 08.00 - 10.00 hours and 14.00 – 16.00 hours. May we draw your attention to a photo session with the three Audi R8 cars, and the nine Audi drivers: Saturday, 29 April 2000, at 15.00 hours in the pitlane.
