Promoter SRO has created GT sport platforms in various regions of the world with the GT World Challenge. In 2021, Audi won the GT World Challenge Europe and the GT World Challenge Australia with its customer teams.

    Title defense with 24 Audi customer race cars in SRO race series – Valentino Rossi on the grid

    Audi Sport customer racing is again one of the most important brands in the pan-European GT platform of promoter SRO (Stéphane Ratel Organization) in 2022. Eleven customer teams with a total of 24 race cars from Audi Sport will compete in the season opener of the SRO racing series at the Imola circuit from April 1–3. Audi will compete as defending champion in the GT3 race series Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS as well as in the GT2 European Series and the GT4 European Series.

    Five titles for Audi Sport and Team WRT in GT World Challenge Europe

    Audi Sport customer racing congratulates Team WRT on five title successes at the end of an exceptional season in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS. Vincent Vosse’s Belgian squad, with the Audi R8 LMS, won the drivers’ and the teams’ classifications in the overall series and in the Sprint cup, as well as the Endurance Cup teams’ classification. Charles Weerts and Dries Vanthoor prevailed against tough competition: up to 30 race cars in the Sprint Cup and up to 58 in the Endurance Cup from nine manufacturers in one of the most competitive series worldwide. In total, the Audi R8 LMS has thus already won 203 championships in overall drivers’ classifications and other classes since 2009.

    18 Audi R8 LMS cars at the season opener in Monza

    Audi Sport customer racing has never been so strongly represented in the European racing series of promoter SRO (Stéphane Ratel Organization) as in the 2021 season. A total of nine of the brand’s customer teams will field three different types of race cars in three racing series at the inaugural weekend at Monza from April 16 to 18. Eight Audi R8 LMS GT4 cars will compete in the GT4 European Series, three GT2 versions in the new GT2 European Series and seven GT3 versions in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
