Pirelli World Challenge 2017

Audi Sport has been active in international GT3 racing since 2009 and is ranking among the global players in this growth market. Audi Sport customer racing is responsible for the brand’s customer racing program. It is firmly rooted on four continents, has won dozens of international titles and long achieved three-digit production figures. Audi Sport has produced more than 200 R8 LMS cars to date. The Audi RS 3 LMS has been meeting with tremendous response by customers in TCR touring car racing and the new Audi R8 LMS GT4 perfectly fills the gap in between.

    Fully integrated: 50th Audi R8 LMS GT4 produced at Böllinger Höfe

    In close vicinity to the Neckarsulm location, the 50th Audi R8 LMS GT4 was driven out of the assembly hall at “Audi Böllinger Höfe” in Heilbronn in mid-March. The GT4 model is a worldwide sales success and, like no other race car at Audi, benefits from synergies in terms of its technical concept and production in the flexible, low-volume manufacturing operation. Since deliveries began on December 15, 2017, Audi Sport customer racing has produced 50 race cars and further orders are on hand.

    Audi Sport customer racing with two partner teams in new WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup

    Following its successful debut season, the Audi RS 3 LMS will compete at the highest international level this year. Audi Sport customer racing is supporting two partner teams in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup. The series is exclusively reserved to TCR race cars and encompasses rounds in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.

    Third Audi victory in Bathurst 12 Hour

    Audi Sport customer racing celebrated its third overall victory in the Bathurst 12 Hour after 2011 and 2012. On making its debut in Australia, Audi Sport Team WRT with campaigners Robin Frijns/Stuart Leonard/Dries Vanthoor (NL/GB/B) triumphed at the Intercontinental GT Challenge opener. As a result, Audi, as the title defenders in the drivers’ and manufacturers’ classifications of this series, managed a top-class start to the new season.

    Audi customers win season opener in the U.S.

    Following the one-two class win of the new Audi R8 LMS GT4 in Dubai two weeks ago, the North American season began with a success for Audi Sport customer racing as well. To kick off the IMSA season at Daytona, all three products of the brand – the GTD and the GT4 versions of the Audi R8 LMS and the Audi RS 3 LMS – were on the grid in America for the first time. In the TCR class of the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, the Audi RS 3 LMS scored a 1-2-3-4 result.

    Audi Sport to start 2018 season in America and Australia with strong customer teams

    Two weeks following the one-two win in the 24-hour race in Dubai, the new Audi R8 LMS GT4 will now be racing in North America. The audience there will get to see the customer sport race car for the first time in the traditional opening round of the IMSA Series at Daytona from January 27 to 28. Just one week later, on February 4, the Intercontinental GT Challenge will kick off in Australia.
