Audi Sport has been active in international GT3 racing since 2009 and is ranking among the global players in this growth market. Audi Sport customer racing is responsible for the brand’s customer racing program. It is firmly rooted on four continents, has won dozens of international titles and long achieved three-digit production figures. Audi Sport has produced more than 200 R8 LMS cars to date. The Audi RS 3 LMS has been meeting with tremendous response by customers in TCR touring car racing and the new Audi R8 LMS GT4 perfectly fills the gap in between.

    Success for Audi Sport customer teams at Bathurst

    Audi Sport customer racing experienced a setback in the launch of its title defense in the Intercontinental GT Challenge. After both Audi R8 LMS of the Audi Sport Team Valvoline had at times led the 12-hour race in Bathurst in the early phase, the squad with drivers Christopher Haase/Christopher Mies/Markus Winkelhock ultimately had to settle for 14th place. The Australian customer teams Matt Stone Racing and Hallmarc, however, were delighted to climb the podium in their class.

    Five Audi R8 LMS in Bathurst 12 Hour

    Audi Sport customer racing is returning to Australia as the title defender. The Intercontinental GT Challenge, in which Audi won the manufacturers’ classification for the third consecutive time last year, will kick off at Mount Panorama in Bathurst, on Sunday, February 3. It is the world’s only racing series for GT3 models with one round each being held on five continents. The two Audi R8 LMS cars of Audi Sport Team Valvoline with their professional driver squads spearhead the lineup. Three additional GT3 sports cars complete the brand’s presence at Bathurst.

    Audi Sport customer teams celebrate one-two result in Dubai

    A perfect start for Audi Sport customer racing to the 2019 motorsport season: At the 24-hour race in Dubai, two Audi Sport customer racing teams celebrated the first one-two result of the latest evolution of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 in a major endurance racing event. After 607 race laps, the #88 Audi R8 LMS GT3 from Car Collection Motorsport with Dimitri Parhofer/Christopher Haase/Frédéric Vervisch/Rik Breukers crossed the finish line with a one-lap advantage over the Audi from Team MS7 by WRT, driven by Mohammed Saud Fahad Al Saud/Michael Vergers/Christopher Mies/Dries Vanthoor.
