• All three Audi R10 TDI sports cars ready to race
  • Biela, Capello and Luhr nominated as start drivers
Le Mans 2007
Audi R10 TDI #1 (Audi Sport Team Joest), Frank Biela

The three Audi R10 TDI sports cars again ran like clockwork in the 45-minute morning warm-up for the Le Mans 24 Hours. All nine Audi drivers were in action on the wet track in order to prepare themselves for the race which will start at 3 p.m. local time. With a total of 32 laps, the Audi drivers were the most diligent ones of the entire field. Their main job was to evaluate different tyre specifications for the changing weather conditions.

Audi Sport Team Joest has nominated Frank Biela (car number 1), Dindo Capello (car number 2) and Lucas Luhr (car number 3) as start drivers. During the race, driver changes are planned as follows:

Audi R10 TDI #1: Biela > Pirro > Werner
Audi R10 TDI #2: Capello > Kristensen > McNish
Audi R10 TDI #3: Luhr > Rockenfeller > Prémat

In dry conditions, the first refuelling stops are expected approximately 40 minutes after the start. This year, the diesel-powered sports cars have to race with 9-litre smaller fuel tanks. In 2006, the Audi R10 TDI completed on average 14 laps with one tank of Shell V-Power Diesel.
