Tom Kristensen discharged from hospital
- DTM driver is back at home with his family

- Alexandre Prémat remains in hospital for observation
Audi driver Tom Kristensen was discharged from hospital on Tuesday evening and is meanwhile back at home with his family. The Dane was involved in a heavy accident just after the start of the opening race of the DTM season at Hockenheim, and was taken to the Mannheim University Clinic for a series of more detailed examinations. Except for bruising the doctors diagnosed no further injuries – they nevertheless instructed Kristensen to rest thoroughly over the next few days.
“I’m delighted that I’m finally back home with my family and our baby boy Oswald,” said Tom Kristensen, who had become a father again only the weekend before last. “It’s always time to leave when you start to enjoy hospital food,” joked the seven-time Le Mans winner as he was leaving. “I’d like to thank the doctors at the circuit and in the hospital for their professional care and attention. I felt extremely well looked after,” said Kristensen. His Siemens Audi A4 DTM will be completely rebuilt in the meantime and ready for action at the next round at Oschersleben (6 May). Kristensen: “I’ll take the opportunity to relax before preparing myself better than ever for the race weekend.”
Kristensen’s Audi team mate Alexandre Prémat, who was also involved in the accident, is also on the road to recovery. The Frenchman must nevertheless stay for a few more days in hospital for observation.
