On the third weekend in November, the customers of Audi Sport customer racing celebrated race victories and a title in Australia, New Zealand and Macau, and successes in class in Texas.

Audi R8 LMS GT3

Overall success in New Zealand: In GT racing in New Zealand, the IMS customer team scored another big success two weeks following its win of the South Island Endurance Series. Neil Foster and Jonny Reid in an Audi R8 LMS also decided the Endurance Racing Championship – the competition between the best teams from New Zealand’s North and South Islands – in their favor. The driver pairing won the three-hour race on the circuit at Hampton Downs south of Auckland with a one-lap advantage. Another Audi Sport customer team celebrated a trophy win as well. Team Evolution Motorsport with Dan and Jon Udy’s Audi R8 LMS clinched position three. 

Two victories in season’s finale: In the finale of the Australian club racing series GT-1 Australia, Matt Stoupas celebrated two victories on the circuit at Winton. The Australian in an Audi R8 LMS ultra of the KFC Motorsport team won the first and third race. For Stoupas, it marked the third victory this season, while the Audi R8 LMS remained unbeaten for a total of eight times in this racing series. 

Class title and third place in Austin: Team Car Collection Motorsport finished the 2019 season of the 24H Series with an outstanding race result and a title in the Championship of the Continents. In round seven of the endurance racing series in Texas, Dr. Johannes Kirchhoff, Gustav Edelhoff, Max Edelhoff, Elmar Grimm and Ingo Vogler shared an Audi R8 LMS. The five amateur drivers won their class on the circuit at Austin after 24 hours of racing with a 22-second advantage and in third position overall achieved their best result this season. In the Championship of the Continents, Peter Schmidt’s German team additionally won the A6 Am teams’ classification for GT sports cars while Elmar Grimm and Dr. Johannes Kirchhoff decided the A6 drivers’ classification in their favor. 

Audi RS 3 LMS (TCR)

Class victory in Macau: Filipe Souza from Macau celebrated a class victory in his home round. At the wheel of an Audi RS 3 LMS of the Champ X TA Motorsport team, in third place overall of the Macau Touring Car Cup, he scored victory in front of 13 other competitors in the class for race cars with two liters of displacement. After twelve laps, the race driver had achieved a 1.6-second advantage on the narrow city circuit. Souza in an RS 3 LMS has previously won the Circuit Hero One Series at Zhuhai with Audi this year. 

Runner-up finish in America: Team AC Motorsport achieved a podium finish in the TCE class at the end of the 24H Series. Stéphane Perrin, Vincent Radermecker, Matthew Taskinen and William Neal in an Audi RS 3 LMS finished runners-up in this mixed touring car classification for TCR and Cup cars after 24 hours at Austin. As a result, Perrin is ranked in third position of the TCR drivers’ standings in the Championship of the Continents, while the Belgian fielding team, AC Motorsport, finished the teams’ classification in the runner-up’s spot.
