DTM Finale Hockenheim 2015
Audi Sport Team Phoenix

Six Audi RS 5 DTM cars are going to start the first of the two final DTM races at the Hockenheimring (from 13.00, CEST, live on ARD) from the first five rows. As in the morning’s second free practice session, Timo Scheider in the AUTO TEST Audi RS 5 DTM of Audi Sport Team Phoenix was the fastest Audi driver. The German missed pole position by just 0.074 seconds. Nürburgring winner Miguel Molina in the Teufel Audi RS 5 DTM of Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline secured position three on the grid.

In a thrilling qualifying, in which the entire field was within 894 thousandths of a second and the fastest ten within less than two tenths of a second, Audi put six cars into the top ten. Mattias Ekström (Red Bull Audi RS 5 DTM) and Edoardo Mortara (Castrol EDGE Audi RS 5 DTM), who both still have minimal chances of winning the drivers’ title, qualified clearly ahead of leader of the standings Pascal Wehrlein.

“Fortunately, I was able to repeat my performance from free practice,” Timo Scheider said following the qualifying session. “It was incredibly tight again. Now I need a perfect start and am hoping for a good race.”
