Statement by Head of Audi Motorsport Dieter Gass on the death of Charlie Whiting

Head of Audi Motorsport Dieter Gass mourns the death of Formula One Race Director Charlie Whiting: “It was a deep shock today to learn of Charlie Whiting’s passing. When someone asked me in recent years if I missed Formula One, I’d often answer that I missed Charlie Whiting. I always held him in high esteem; he leaves a huge gap in motorsport. What Charlie Whiting did for Formula One and for motorsport is immense and cannot be summarized in a few words. I will miss him as an expert and as a person. My thoughts are with his family and his friends.”
