Audi at the world premiere of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

Audi has been involved in film and theater for many years. Since 2014, Audi has been the principal partner of the Berlinale and has further expanded its partnership with the Berlin International Film Festival. The Audi Short Film Award was initiated in the second year of the partnership. With this film prize, Audi supports both the 20 min|max short film festival, which has taken place annually since 2006, and another short film project that is part of the Audi ArtExperience. And film buffs can also find what they crave at the arthouse theater at Audi Forum Ingolstadt. The cinema has received multiple awards for its exceptional program.

    Audi Short Film Award for “Rise”

    The winner of the Audi Short Film Award at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival, with prize money of €20,000, is “Rise” by Bárbara Wagner and Benjamin de Burca. The International Short Film Jury in the Berlinale Shorts section thus honors the signature style of a lively and experimental documentary that puts the spotlight on the texts, music and dance of a group of young People of Color as an act of self-empowerment. They occupy the public space of the subway in Toronto to perform their concept of edutainment.

    Audi e-tron at the Berlinale: film celebrities on the road all-electric

    Audi will drive the stars to the red carpet at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival in the Audi e-tron (electricity consumption combined in kWh/100 km: 26.2-22.6* (WLTP), 24.6-23.7 (NEDC); CO2 emissions combined in g/km: 0*). In its sixth season as principal sponsor, Audi and the Berlinale will together welcome visitors to the Audi Berlinale Lounge, to dive into the festival experience directly next to the red carpet. From February 7 to 16, the Berlinale Open House Program will present varied event formats and exciting discussions with visionaries from the fields of film, culture and business on socially relevant trend topics. The Audi Berlinale Lounge is open to filmmakers and journalists as well as festival visitors.

    Audi Short Film Award for “Solar Walk”

    Hungarian filmmaker Réka Bucsi is the winner of the Audi Short Film Award at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival. The award carries a € 20,000 prize. In the “Berlinale Shorts” section, the international short film jury honors the 29 year old’s exceptional artistic signature in her film “Solar Walk”. During the Berlinale, the varied cultural program on offer in the Audi Berlinale Lounge fascinated the audience. More than 16,500 guests visited the Lounge and the “Berlinale Open House” public events.

    Audi A8 in disguise as surprise guest at the world premiere of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

    Wednesday night the new Audi A8* could be seen in Los Angeles alongside many Hollywood stars at the world premiere of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming.’ Tom Holland, who stars as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, was chauffeured down the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre. Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau arrived together in a black Audi R8 Spyder*.

    Audi Short Film Award goes to Lebanese director Karam Ghossein

    Lebanese director Karam Ghossein has won the Audi Short Film Award, along with its €20,000 cash prize. In the Berlinale Shorts section, he swayed the international short film jury with his film “Street of Death.” The wide-ranging program at the Audi Berlinale Lounge also generated a great deal of interest during the Berlinale. Attracting more than 6,000 visitors, the Lounge was once again the central meeting place for film aficionados. This year the Lounge featured discussions on current movies, debates about new technologies and the popular Berlinale Lounge Nights.

    Audi extends partnership with the Berlin International Film Festival to 2019

    AUDI AG will remain the principal partner to the Berlin International Film Festival. The brand with the four rings will expand its involvement starting in 2017 to include the new innovation platform of the European Film Market (EFM) known as “EFM Horizon.” This platform fosters use of new technologies in the cinema like virtual reality and encourages the exchange of knowledge across industries.     Audi extends involvement in the Bayreuth Festival with modern art film project

    Berlin/Ingolstadt, June 29, 2016 – Audi is extending its sponsorship of the Bayreuth Festival with an innovative film project. Entitled “Black Mountain,” it is part of the company’s “Zeitgeist” series launched by the company in 2015 to support dialog with creative minds from various disciplines. Audi realized the art film with the artist collective “Like A Wild Beast’s Fur,” with composer Moritz von Oswald and cultural adviser Jan Engel. “Black Mountain” is inspired by Richard Wagner’s “Parsifal,” which is being newly staged this year at the Bayreuth Festival, and adds new perspectives on this stage production. The film can be viewed from July 6–24 as part of the “Black Mountain X Fragments” exhibition at Galerie Patrick Ebensperger in Berlin.

    Berlinale: Chiang Wei Liang wins Audi Short Film Award

    At the 66th Berlin International Film Festival, Singaporean director Chiang Wei Liang won the Audi Short Film Award with his film “Jin zhi xia mao” (“Anchorage Prohibited”). The award carries a € 20,000 prize. The jury honored the politically-engaged artistic signature of the director with the award in the Berlinale Shorts category. The Audi Berlinale Lounge was again favored by cinema-goers, this year setting a new record of more than 7,200 visitors. Long queues in front of the entrance testified to the audience’s great interest in the events of the Berlinale Open House supporting program and the exclusive view of the red carpet.

    Audi promoting directors of short films at the Berlinale

    Audi is considerably expanding its partnership with the Berlin International Film Festival. The central element of the strengthened commitment to the Berlinale is the Audi Short Film Award, which will be presented in the Berlinale Shorts section. The winner of the award will take home EUR 20,000, which will make the Audi Short Film Award one of the world’s most generously endowed prizes for short films. In addition to the award, several more collaborative projects are planned for 2015.

    Audi has been one of the principal partners of the Berlin International Film Festival since 2014. In December 2016, both Audi and the Berlinale have agreed to continue their successful partnership through 2019. The fifth year of the successful partnership began in November 2017, presenting an Audi Q7 e-tron which will enable Kosslick to drive to all of his meetings in preparation for the 68th Berlinale while maintaining a small carbon footprint.

    Audi Late Light Show

    Audi is to present an impressive 3D video mapping light show at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt in advance of the world premiere of the new Audi A5 Coupe. On six consecutive evenings starting on Wednesday, May 25, visitors will be able to enjoy a spectacular light show by the renowned Hungarian group of artists “Maxin10sity.” Everyone is invited to the show – art fans, Audi employees and their families, as well as people from the region and beyond – when the 2,300-square-meter surface of the building on the Audi Piazza is transformed into a unique work of art during the “Audi Late Light Show.” Entry will be free of charge.
