A flexible and efficient production of cars in factories that are connected with one another around the world – that is our aim. Step by step the vision of a smart factory becomes reality:
In the assembly, humans and machines already work hand in hand. For example, assembly workers wear exoskeletons that are designed to relieve the burden on the employee when specific activities are performed. In addition, VR glasses allow a more efficient training on the job as it enables a combination of the real world with the virtual one.
However, the digitalization of processes results in huge amounts of data. Here big data helps to link the generated data in an intelligent way and simultaneously leads to a more flexible production. In this way, individual vehicle configurations can be implemented more quickly.
A sustainable and environmentally friendly production is an essential element of a smart factory, too. Innovative technologies reduce the consumption of energies, water and raw materials. Thanks to our own water treatment plant, up to half a million cubic meters of fresh water are saved every year.
