Audi expects prominent guests from the music scene during the Le Mans 24 Hour race. British soul artist Seal has been at the Sarthe circuit since Friday. Jay Kay, front man of the music group Jamiroquai, also visits the 24 Hour race. British R&B and Soul singer Beverley Knight follows the endurance classic also as a guest of Audi.

Audi Head of Motorsport Dr Wolfgang Ullrich received the “Spirit of Le Mans Award” from the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) on Thursday. Jean-Claude Plassart, President of the ACO, presented the trophy, a Rolex watch, to Dr Ullrich.

At the Audi press conference, Philippe Graton presented the 70th edition of the famous comic “Michel Vaillant” which features the Le Mans 24 Hour race this time. The Audi R10 TDI is one of the stars of the comic strip. Audi works driver Vanina Ickx received permission from Audi to drive a Vaillante car for the opposition in the comic strip.

Precisely ten years ago, on 15 June 1997, Tom Kristensen celebrated his first victory in the Le Mans 24 Hour race. Kristensen who has won seven out of ten events, thus being the most successful driver in the endurance classic, starts today for the team of Reinhold Joest as he did a decade ago.
