Audi China was founded in 2009 as a one-hun­dred-per­cent sub­sidiary of AUDI AG in Bei­jing. The com­pany has ap­prox­i­mately 600 em­ploy­ees and co­or­di­nates busi­ness co­op­er­a­tion be­tween AUDI AG, the FAW Group and the joint ven­ture FAW-Volk­swa­gen. The chief ex­ec­u­tive of Audi China is Dr. Di­et­mar Voggen­re­iter. The busi­ness ar­eas of Audi China in­clude Audi R&D Bei­jing, Cor­po­rate Strat­egy and Plan­ning, Audi China Sourc­ing, Qual­ity and Tech­ni­cal Ser­vices.

    Audi: More than 50,000 cars delivered in China in one month for the first time

    Audi achieved new record figures in the Chinese market in the first half of the year, increasing unit sales in China including Hong Kong and Macau by 17.8 percent to 268,666 automobiles. In June, the company for the first time passed the mark of 50,000 deliveries in one month (50,756, or plus 14.1 percent compared with the 44,479 deliveries in the prior-year month).

    Audi and partner FAW cooperate on plug-in hybrid for China

    Together with its Chinese joint-venture partner FAW, Audi is to launch a plug-in hybrid car for the Chinese market. The Audi A6 e-tron will be based on the long-wheelbase version of the Audi A6, which is already produced in China, and will be specially developed for the most important market of the German premium manufacturer.

    Double-digit growth for Audi in China in Q1 2014

    In the best first quarter of Audi’s history in China, 124,520 customers decided to buy a car with the Four Rings – an increase of 21.1 percent compared with the prior-year period. With the A3 Sportback, another locally produced model in the premium compact segment was launched in the Chinese market this March. Production of the A3 Sedan will start in the summer. Together with the Audi Q3*, which has been produced in China since November 2012, Audi offers the broadest range of cars in this segment from local production.

    Audi celebrates double jubilee in China

    Audi is today celebrating the 25th jubilee of its partnership with First Automotive Works (FAW). The approximately 2,000 guests in the grounds of the future production site for the Audi A3 Sedan and the Audi A3 Sportback in Foshan include board members of representatives of AUDI AG, of the partners FAW, and of the joint venture FAW-Volkswagen. At the same time, Audi is today delivering to a customer its two-millionth car in China, a locally produced Audi A6 L. The two companies have announced that they will work together on a plug-in-hybrid project.
