24h Nürburgring 2020
Audi R8 LMS #3 (Audi Sport Team Car Collection), Mirko Bortolotti/Christopher Haase/Markus Winkelhock

Last year's winner Audi took second place in the 48th edition of the 24-hour race. Mirko Bortolotti (I), Christopher Haase (D) and Markus Winkelhock (D) from the Audi Sport Team Car Collection were just 15.452 seconds behind the winning car at the finish. Two other Audi R8 LMS cars made it into the top ten: Number 1 from Audi Sport Team Phoenix came fifth with the driver quartet of Nico Müller (CH), Frank Stippler (D), Dries Vanthoor (B) and Frédéric Vervisch (B). Audi Sport Team Land took sixth place with drivers Mattia Drudi (I), Kelvin van der Linde (ZA), Christopher Mies (D) and René Rast in number 29. Number 7, an R8 LMS privately entered by Team Car Collection Motorsport, finished 16th with drivers Milan Dontje (NL), Patric Niederhauser (CH) and Mike David Ortmann (D). Due to heavy rain, the race, which had been postponed from May to September because of the Corona pandemic, was interrupted for almost ten hours on Saturday evening. Audi Sport customer racing has won the endurance classic five times between 2012 and 2019.
