WEC Mexico 2016
Benoît Tréluyer

Audi driver Benoît Tréluyer will not contest round five of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Owing to a bicycle accident, he was sidelined at the WEC round at the Nürburgring. During free practice at the 6 Hours of Mexico, he was back in the cockpit of the Audi R18 for the first time again. “That was a good opportunity to get used to the car again,” said the Frenchman. Head of Audi Motorsport Dr Wolfgang Ullrich added: “In the race though, Benoît needs to be absolutely fit. In agreement with our team physician, we have decided to give Ben more time to recover and to build up his fitness again in order to be one hundred percent fit for the 6-hour race in Austin in two weeks’ time.” So Marcel Fässler and André Lotterer will share the no. 7 Audi R18 on Saturday, as they did previously at the Nürburgring.
