• Important anniversary of the Audi brand's first full-electrical model
  • The start of the new era began as 2018 drew to a close
  •  I would like to thank all the employees who have contributed to this success", says Volker Germann, CEO of Audi Brussels
With a mask in Audi e-tron Battery Assembly: Production at Audi Brussels restarted at the beginning of May.

Since 2018, Audi Brussels has been manufacturing the Audi e-tron, the first full-electrical model from the brand with the four rings. Today, the 100,000th Audi e-tron left the site's finishing line. The anniversary car is a Daytona grey Audi e-tron Sportback 55 S line Quattro, scheduled for delivery to a Belgian customer soon.

The new era began at the end of 2018, with the completion of the Audi brand's first fully electric cars at the completely renovated and CO2-neutral Audi Brussels production plant. The high-voltage batteries of the Audi e-tron are also manufactured at the same Audi site.

"I would like to express my gratitude to all the employees who contributed to the successful launch of this premium electric car for their commitment, expertise and enthusiasm. The worldwide electrification of the Audi brand could only begin due to their monumental efforts", says Volker Germann, CEO of Audi Brussels.

After the successful market launch in spring 2019, the production of the Audi e-tron Sportback - the especially dynamic SUV coupe variant - started in the early part of 2020. The Audi e-tron S and the Audi e-tron S Sportback - the sports variants equipped with three electric motors - followed in August 2020.

The Audi e-tron was the world's best-selling electric car among German premium manufacturers in 2020. The model was even the best-selling car in terms of overall sales in Norway last year.
