DTM Finale Hockenheim 2015
Jamie Green

Strong showing by Audi in the last qualifying session of the 2015 DTM season: with six Audi RS 5 DTM cars in the top eight grid positions, the brand with the four rings has a realistic chance of still winning the manufacturers’ classification in the final race at Hockenheim (from 15.00, CEST, live on ARD).

The fastest Audi driver was Jamie Green in the Hoffmann Group Audi RS 5 DTM of Audi Sport Team Rosberg, who missed pole position by just 38 thousandths of a second. “The track kept getting faster, so the final lap had to fit,” the Briton said. “Unfortunately, I hit the green carpet in turn 1 and lost some time in the process. That’s a little frustrating because pole would have been possible. But grid position two is a good starting base as well.”

The second row on the grid will be shared by Mattias Ekström (Red Bull Audi RS 5 DTM) and Miguel Molina (Teufel Audi RS 5 DTM/both Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline). Ekström on his last lap with best sector times was headed for the front row, but on the partially damp track hit the carpet on the edge of the track as well and stopped his lap.

Adrien Tambay (Playboy Audi RS 5 DTM), Nico Müller (Audi Financial Services Audi RS 5 DTM) and Saturday’s winner Timo Scheider (AUTO TEST Audi RS 5 DTM/Audi Sport Team Phoenix) completed Audi’s strong showing by taking grid positions six, seven and eight.
