Audi Sport TT Cup, Finale Hockenheim 2016
Joonas Lappalainen (FIN)

Joonas Lappalainen already has one hand on the big trophy in the Audi Sport TT Cup. In race one of the season finale at the Hockenheimring, the Finn claimed a lights-to-flag victory and with a score of 264 points before the final race already has a 20-point advantage over the runner-up, Dennis Marschall. The German did not get beyond position five. Trailing Lappalainen, the two newcomers Nicklas Nielsen and Sheldon van der Linde fought a fierce battle for the crown in the rookies’ classification. The Dane, on clinching second place, took the lead in this category, in front of his South African rival. This result, however, only gives Nielsen a two-point advantage over van der Linde before the grand finale starting on Sunday at 09:10.
