2023: Combined Annual and Sustainability Report
R 2023 Combined Annual and Sustainability Report 2 Audi Report 2023 FinanceStrategy & Company ESG Appendix Co ve r: A U D I A G | Ph ot o: A U D I A G I became the Chairman of the Board of Management of the Audi Group and its four brands Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and Ducati in September 2023. In the months since then, we the Board of Management team have set a number of major priorities and initiated the Audi Agenda, a leading program that clearly defines the areas that we as a company concentrate on. Our focus is on the four fields of “product,” “technology,” “brand” and “regions.” With an operating profit of EUR 6.3 billion and an operating return on sales of 9.0 percent, we posted robust figures for the Audi Group in 2023 and have a solid financial foundation. At the same time, it’s clear that the next few years will challenge the entire automotive industry. Tough global economic conditions, the technological transformation of the automotive industry and highly intensive competition will place great demands on us. We will apply a clear strategy for each of our brands to ensure that we remain successful in this environment. We made landmark decisions for the Audi brand in 2023 and addressed important fields of action as part of the new Audi Agenda. As evidenced by our many new e-models, such as the Audi Q6 e-tron model line followed by the Audi A6 e-tron family,¹ as well as an entirely new generation of combustion models and plug-in hybrids, Audi is well-positioned for the future on its way to an all-electric product portfolio. As we move forward, the focus will be on premium quality and our customers. We will also concentrate on strengthening the Audi brand in our three core regions – Europe, China and North America – and further balancing our global positioning. In particular, we want to seize new opportunities in the USA. In China, production of fully electric Audi models will also commence this year at our new joint venture with FAW in Changchun. re p o rt Combined Annual and Sustainability Report 2022 2 Audi Report 2022 Products & Services Value Creation & Production Operations & Integrity Strategy Employees & Society Introduction Appendix Without a question: 2022 was a challenging year. A year shaped by a difficult situation in the global economy, sharply rising energy prices and continued supply shortages. A year in which we were so terribly caught off guard by the war in Ukraine, which has demanded our solidarity and cohesion more than anything else in recent memory. At the same time, as the team of the Premium brand group, we accomplished a lot together and generated a record operating profit¹ of EUR 7.6 billion thanks to the dedication and team spirit of all employees. The way we took on the challenges of the past year is an enormous achievement for which I would like to thank our more than 87,000 employees worldwide. The results show that, together, we are successfully guiding the Premium brand group with Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and Ducati through turbulent times – always with our eyes on the horizon. One milestone in 2023 will be the start of production of the Audi Q6 e-tron family in Ingolstadt on the flexible vehicle architecture of Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The PPE offers the perfect conditions for our future fully electric vehicles. For the next step in digitalization, we are utilizing E³, the new generation of uniform electronic architecture, which we are developing in collaboration with CARIAD, the internal software unit of the Volkswagen Group. At the same time, we are converting our sites to electric mobility. Starting in 2029, all Audi plants will produce at least one fully electric model. Along the way, we are keeping our eye on the environmental footprint of our vehicles and are continuing to shrink it throughout the entire life cycle. We reduce CO₂ emissions at various levels of the company, starting with the consistent implementation of our Roadmap E and projects related to the

Audi Report 2020
REPORTREPORT REPORT Audi 2020 combined annual and sustainability report Dear Readers, Stand together, but keep your distance – an idea that became last year’s watchword. The coronavirus pandemic significantly impacted day-to-day business in markets throughout the world, presenting great economic as well as emotional challenges. Thanks to our strong crisis management team, we have managed to navigate stably through the pandemic thus far. Ensuring the protection of everyone at Audi has always been our top priority. At the same time, we have examined our costs and secured our liquidity – without compromising on product substance or sustainability. Audi has the potential and is committed to taking a leading role in shaping the transformation of the automotive industry. “ Vorsprung” is in our DNA. For us, “Vorsprung” means combining unique technological innovations with a clear mindset: We want to set an example as a modern, transparent and value-based company. We want to sustainably shape individual mobility, while protecting the environment and conserving resources. Markus Duesmann Chairman of the Board of Management and Member of the Board of Management for Product Lines of AUDI AG P h o to : A U D I A G Querverweis 0-1 Intro 2Audi Report 2020 Foreword The Audi e-tron GT quattro1 is one example of this. As the brand’s progressive new spearhead, it is our first all-electric model manufactured in Germany. The e-tron GT1 stands for emotional electric mobility and sustainability. Now more than ever, our future success requires that we have a holistic understanding of sustainability, comprising the economy, environment and society. That is why we are also integrating the financial perspectives and issues related to ESG – Environment, Social and Governance – into our reporting and are publishing a combined annual and sustainability report this year for the first time. Even following last year’s acquisition of all Audi shares by Volkswagen AG, this approach will allow us to
Biography Quatuor Ébène
INTERNAL Biography Quatuor Ébène "A string quartet that can easily morph into a jazz band,” wrote the New York Times after a 2009 performance by the Quatuor Ebène. The ensemble opened with Debussy and Haydn and then improvised on a film music theme—with exactly the same enthusiasm and passion. What began in 1999 as a distraction in the university’s practice rooms for the four young French musicians has become a trademark of the Quatuor Ebène, and has generated lasting reverberations in the music scene. The four breathe new life into chamber music through their consistently direct, open-minded perspective on the works. Regardless of the genre, they approach the music with humility and respect. They change styles with gusto, and yet remain themselves: with all the passion that they experience for each piece, and which they bring to the stage and to their audiences directly and authentically. There is no single word that describes their style: they’ve created their own. Their traditional repertoire does not suffer from their engagement with other genres; rather, their free association with diverse styles brings a productive excitement to their music. From the beginning, the complexity of their oeuvre has been greeted enthusiastically by audiences and critics. After studies with the Quatuor Ysaÿe in Paris and with Gábor Takács, Eberhard Feltz and György Kurtág, the quartet had an unprecedented victory at the ARD Music Competition 2004. This marked the beginning of their rise, which has culminated in numerous prizes and awards. The Quatuor Ebène’s concerts are marked by a special elan. With their charismatic playing, their fresh approach to tradition and their open engagement with new forms, the musicians have been successful in reaching a wide audience of young listeners; they communicate their knowledge in regular master classes at the Conservatoire Supérieur Paris. The quartet was one of the award winners of the Borletti-Buitoni Trust in 2007 and received support from
