Audi will participate in Greentech Festival New York on Sept. 15 and 16. This conference with international roots invites discussion on topics related to sustainable development, climate, and environmental protection. Audi is a founding partner of Greentech Festival and participated in Greentech Berlin earlier this year. The festival includes a variety of opportunities for conversation among participants including open forums, panel discussions, keynote speeches, and bootcamp sessions.
The Greentech Festival in New York is the prime setting for Audi as it allows us to exchange ideas with people that are working to find and implement solutions to reach ambitious climate goals,” said Tara Rush, chief marketing officer, Audi of America. “For real change to be made, innovative solutions need to be discussed, and I’m proud that Audi is a founding partner of a forum that gives a platform for these conversations.” Audi will host a fireside chat on the main stage, along with a bootcamp session facilitated by Spencer Reeder, Audi’s director of Government Affairs and Sustainability, that conference participants can sign up to join.
The storage champ - Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept
Audi exhibits concept for an executive class Avant with electric drive system Unmistakable design for the electric age Fast charging with 270 kW – 300 km (186 miles) range in just 10 minutes
Audi A6 e-tron concept, the second: as part of its 2022 Annual Media Conference, Audi is presenting the next model in its future electrically powered A6 Luxury Class: the Avant. The company with the four rings introduced the Audi A6 Sportback with an electric drive system almost a year ago at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2021. The production-oriented A6 Avant e-tron concept car now illustrates the synthesis of pioneering drive technology and Audi’s traditional design world: the Avant.
Like the Audi A6 e-tron concept that was exhibited in 2021, the A6 Avant also has an exclusively electric drive system based on the forward-looking PPE platform, developed under Audi’s leadership. At the same time, it represents a new design concept with the same dimensions as the A6 Sportback e-tron. At 4.96 meters (16.3 ft.) long, 1.96 meters (6.4 ft.) wide, and 1.44 meters (4.7 ft.) high, its body puts it in the luxury class. Its lines are a consistent development in Audi’s contemporary formal language. Significant elements like the closed Singleframe and the continuous strip of lights in the rear emphasize its kinship with the other electrically powered Audis in the e-tron fleet. The Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept exterior model that is making its debut in March 2022 is no more a simple design exercise than the Sportback. On the contrary, its lines and elegant proportions anticipate future Audi production models and offer clues about how dynamic and elegant the electrically powered luxury class from the brand with the four rings will look. “With the Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept, we are offering a completely tangible look at future production models on our new PPE technology platform,” says Audi Board Member for Technical Development Oliver Hoffmann.
Audi A6 e-tron concept – the next e-volution
Audi presents fully electric luxury-class Sportback concept car New technology platform: Premium Platform Electric (PPE) beginning in 2022 Fast charging with 270 kW – range of more than 700 km
Audi is resolutely pushing ahead with its “e-volution” towards electric mobility and will be unveiling the forerunner of an innovative family of fully electric, production cars – the four-door Audi A6 e-tron concept – at the Auto Shanghai 2021 show. A completely new technology architecture, the “Premium Platform Electric,” or PPE for short, will serve as the technology platform for these vehicles in the future. Beginning in late 2022, the first production cars in the C- and later also B-segment will be relaunched with PPE technology, including – a first in the market for electric vehicles – both SUVs with a high ground clearance and dynamically styled models with a lower ride height, such as the upcoming Audi A6 e-tron.
Sporting the Audi A6 emblem, the concept car underscores its place in the brand’s luxury-class model series. This model has represented the brand in one of the world’s highest-volume segments since 1968 – initially, and until 1994, as the Audi 100. First the Sedan, Avant, and allroad, then later the Sportback – which was introduced as the A7 – rounded out the model family. An electrified drive system already has a long tradition in the Audi A6 – after a full hybrid version that was released back in 2011, the current Audi A6 TFSIe made its debut in 2019 with a plug-in hybrid drive and an electric range of up to 91 kilometers (NEFZ). Unlike the latter, however, the Audi A6 e-tron concept being exhibited at the Auto Shanghai 2021 show relies exclusively on electric power, based on the future PPE platform developed under Audi’s leadership. At the same time, it also represents an entirely new design concept – the only thing it has in common with the current A6 are its dimensions.
Victory narrowly missed: Lucas di Grassi the tragic hero in the Rome E-Prix
Brazilian retires five minutes before the end while leading the race René Rast moves up from 20th on the grid to sixth Customer team Envision Virgin Racing scores points with both cars
The third round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Rome (Italy) was five minutes too long for Lucas di Grassi: leading the race and already eyeing victory, the Brazilian from the Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler team came to a stop without drive three laps from the finish. His teammate René Rast moved up from 20th on the grid to sixth.
“Our car is fantastic,” said Lucas di Grassi ahead of the first European weekend of the new Formula E season. The Audi factory driver underlined his statement by setting the fastest time in the first free practice session and fourth place on the grid. In the spectacular E-Prix on the redesigned circuit in the Italian capital, the entire field remained close together. Di Grassi took the lead early on and kept the upper hand in numerous fierce battles. The deserved victory was within his grasp, but the Brazilian suddenly slowed down and had to park his Audi e-tron FE07 with only five minutes remaining. “A mechanical problem so close to the end of the race is tough,” said di Grassi. “For the mechanics, for the engineers and for me. We had the speed to win the race today. I was leading the race for most of the time and had great overtakes. We will work hard to come back even stronger tomorrow.” Teammate René Rast already hurt his chance for a podium in qualifying. After making slight contact with a wall, the German was unable to complete his timed lap. With a faultless race, the three-time DTM champion fought his way up into the points. “When you start from 20th on the grid, you have to be happy with sixth place,” said Rast, who is also sixth in the overall Formula E drivers’ standings. “It was a cool race, I had a lot of fun, the car was fast. Tomorrow we have to be better in qualifying, then we’ll fight for the podium.”
Save the date: the online world premiere of the Audi Q4 e-tron
Audi’s electrification offensive gains momentum in the compact segment The Audi Q4 e-tron sets new standards for the interior and controls Digital presentation as part of the Celebration of Progress on 14 April 2021
The Audi Q4 e-tron is the first all-electric SUV of the Four Rings brand in the compact-car segment, combining pioneering design, cutting-edge display technologies and outstanding spaciousness. In this way Audi is consistently pressing ahead with its offensive for electrification. The world premiere will take place on 14 April 2021 as part of a digital event.
Audi will make a virtual presentation of the new Audi Q4 e-tron as part of the Celebration of Progress. The online streaming will begin at 7 pm Central European Summer Time. Markus Duesmann, CEO of AUDI AG, and Hildegard Wortmann, Board Member for Sales and Marketing, together with actor Regé-Jean Page, filmmaker, actor and activist Olivia Wilde and the athletes Anna Gasser and Malaika Mihambo, will present the electric-powered compact SUV. Audi experts including Marc Lichte, Head of Design, and Henrik Wenders, Senior Vice President Audi Brand, will provide detailed insights into the highlights of the Audi Q4 e-tron and its significance for the Four Rings. For the brand, this model is a further important step in the electrification offensive. The model takes its place in an especially attractive and fast-growing market segment, the compact SUV class. The Audi Q4 e-tron follows the SUV models Audi e-tron, Audi e-tron Sportback and the sporty Audi e-tron GT. Note for journalists: The world premiere of the Audi Q4 e-tron will be streamed on Audi MediaTV.
The Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron concept
Audi presents Coupé variant of Q4 e-tron as a concept car Versatile efficiency technologies enable ranges over 500 kilometers (310.7 mi) Production version to be launched in 2021 as the Audi brand’s seventh electric model
From a technical perspective, they are identical twins, but in terms of their shape, they each have their own unmistakable and characteristic features: The Audi Q4 e-tron concept gave visitors to the 2019 Geneva Motor Show a taste of the first compact electric SUV from Audi. With the Q4 Sportback e-tron, the brand is now presenting the second model of the product line that will go into production in 2021 as an SUV Coupé.
*The collective consumption values of all models named and available on the German market can be found in the list provided at the end of this MediaInfo. This gives potential Q4 customers the opportunity to start thinking about which version they prefer roughly a year before the first vehicles will be delivered: the versatility and robustness of the classic SUV or the dynamic elegance of the Coupé variant. The dimensions of the two Q4 models are almost identical: With an exterior length of 4.60 meters (15.1 ft) and a height of 1.60 m (5.2 ft), the Sportback is one centimeter (0.4 in) longer and flatter. The Q4 variants are identical in terms of their width of 1.90 m (6.2 ft) and their wheelbase of 2.77 meters (9.1 ft). The two concept cars, which are already offering a clear look ahead at the top-of-the-range engine line-up of the coming series production model, also have the same drive technology. Two electric motors mobilize 225 kW of system output in the Q4 and Q4 Sportback e-tron concept. As is typical for Audi, the driving power is brought to the road with quattro all-wheel drive. Thanks to excellent traction, both versions of the Q4 accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in just 6.3 seconds. Top speed is restricted to 180 km/h (111.8 mph).
Audi looks forward to WEC premiere in Texas
FIA World Endurance Championship visits Austin for the first time Audi R18 e-tron quattro unbeaten so far in the 2013 season Head of Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich: “Important race in a very significant market for Audi”
Round five of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at Austin in the U.S. state of Texas has a particularly high significance for Audi. In America, the brand’s sports car program began 14 years ago, Audi won the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) nine times in succession and the Sebring 12 Hours eleven times – most recently in March. Furthermore, the sales statistics in America have been developing positively for Audi for years. At Austin, on September 22, the brand with the four rings is aiming to achieve its second sports car victory in the United States this year. It would mark the sixth consecutive win for the Audi R18 e-tron quattro as well.
Totally new territory: The 5.515-kilometer Circuit of the Americas south-east of Austin was only inaugurated last year. Neither Audi Sport Team Joest nor the six factory drivers know the challenging roller-coaster track featuring 20 turns and 41 meters of vertical difference. Just like most recently at São Paulo, the entrants will be running counter-clockwise in the WEC round at Austin – a direction that is unusual in racing. While the drivers are preparing for the track by studying videos and practicing in the simulator, the engineers of Audi Sport have calculated the conditions for the Audi R18 e-tron quattro’s run in advance by means of mathematical simulations. Audi Sport Team Joest may be facing another challenge. Outside temperatures above 30 degrees centigrade are not unusual in this region in September. In 2000, when the Audi R8 won at Dallas/Texas, the thermometers even rose to above 40 degrees. Aside from the competition in the field, the two Audi driver squads are not cutting each other any slack either.
Audi at Austin: Sights are set on repeating last year’s victory
Audi reaches for lead of WEC manufacturers’ standings Adjusted rating of the hybrid sports cars Eager anticipation of unusual roller-coaster ride in Texas
Following its 13th victory at Le Mans, Audi is aiming to also grab the lead of the standings in the next round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in North America. Before the fourth race of the season at Austin, Texas, on Saturday, September 20, World Champions Audi are trailing challenger Toyota by exactly one point in the manufacturers’ championship. In America, Audi is again meeting with its two fiercest rivals each having led laps at Le Mans in June.
15 weeks after the Le Mans 24 Hours, the round in America marks the beginning of the overseas season in the WEC. Several factors make for special suspense. At Le Mans, all three manufacturers of LMP1-H race cars took turns leading the race for several hours. In addition, the FIA and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) fine-tuned the rating of all hybrid race cars once more. The actual effects will only be visible in a race situation. However, Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich and Chris Reinke, Head of LMP, are not expecting any significant shifts in the relative strengths. At Austin, Audi is returning to the short-tail body version with high downforce that had been used at the beginning of the season but not on the high-speed track at Le Mans. The sweeping corners of the roller-coaster track in the south of Texas featuring 20 directional changes were the scene of a thrilling exchange a year ago. After a distance of 1,031 kilometers and six hours of driving time, the victorious Audi was separated by only 23.6 seconds from its closest rival. A year ago, Tom Kristensen won together with Loïc Duval and their former team-mate Allan McNish. Lucas di Grassi, a new member of the team since this season in car number 1, is the only Audi driver who has previously not been on the grid at Austin.
