There was a lot of work to do for Audi’s team physician Dr Christian John (59) at Brno. On Friday, Tom Kristensen (37) fell off a mountain bike during a film shooting session, sustaining abrasions on his left arm. While climbing up some stairs on Friday evening, Mattias Ekström twisted his right ankle, which provoked immediate swelling. In both cases, Dr John was able to help: on Saturday, both Audi drivers were fit again.

Audi driver Martin Tomczyk (23) has joined the biking community: The native of Rosenheim, Bavaria, recently passed his motorcycle test and bought a Harley Dyna Low Rider.

Frank Stippler (30) volunteered for an “extrication” practice performed by the DMSB (German Motorsport Association) squad at Brno, which was filmed by ARD TV. At every race weekend the DSMB experts practice rescuing a driver in case of a crash. Although Stippler’s height of 1.89 metres posed a particular challenge for the squad, they solved the task with their usual proficiency.

Martin Tomczyk acted as a cameraman at Brno. For the “DTM-Magazin” programme aired by pay TV channel “Premiere”, the Audi works driver presented his team. Viewers can marvel at the results of his foray into the filming business next Sunday as part of the advance coverage of the Formula 1 race at Montreal.
