Audi R10 TDI faster than in Qualifying

Also the warm-up for the Le Mans 24 Hours was absolutely free of troubles for the three Audi R10 TDI prototypes. All nine Audi drivers got further track time. With 3m 23.319s Allan McNish was faster than in Qualifying despite running on used tyres – thus confirming that the Audi Sport Team Joest has found a good set-up for the race.
The 76th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours will start on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. At the start of the race, Frank Biela (#1), Allan McNish (#2) and Lucas Luhr (#3) will be at the wheel of the three Audi R10 TDI prototypes. The cars will come to the pits for scheduled refuelling stops about every 40 minutes. The drivers will change in alphabetical order:

#2 Allan McNish > Dindo Capello > Tom Kristensen
#3 Lucas Luhr > Alexandre Prémat > Mike Rockenfeller
Over 250,000 spectators are following the race at Le Mans this weekend, millions worldwide via television. In Ingolstadt, the start and the finish of the race will be shown live on large screens in the market place in front of the Town Hall.
At Le Mans, a lot of prominent guests are expected. Star guest in the Audi Racing Arena at the race track will be British singer James Morrison who will perform a private concert for the Audi guests on Saturday evening.
Dry weather is expected for the start. During the race, however, it might start to rain. The three Audi R10 TDI cars will start with a set-up which can quickly be transformed into a rain set-up.
