ALMS: Audi aims to recapture the lead
The American Le Mans Series (ALMS) comes to Europe: Following the two season-opening rounds in Sebring and Charlotte, the sportscars make a guest appearance in Silverstone (GB) on 13 May. At the third of twelve races, the Audi pilots are determined to recapture the championship lead.
"I´m very much looking forward to this race. Silverstone is an interesting circuit. I´m keen to see the comparison between touring and sports cars," says Frank Biela, who clinched the title in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) back in 1996 in an Audi A4 quattro.

With the three new Audi R8 cars currently being prepared for the Le Mans 24 Hour race, drivers Michele Alboreto, Frank Biela, Rinaldo Capello, Allan McNish and Emanuele Pirro will drive the modified models from last year as in Charlotte before. "Especially Silverstone would suit our new cars very well. With last year´s cars it will be much more difficult. But the team will give its very best and will take on the challenge," says Head of Audi Sport, Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich.
