TCR Japan 2020
Audi RS 3 LMS #21 (Audi Team Hitotsuyama), Takuro Shinohara

Audi Team Hitotsuyama celebrated the greatest success imaginable in the 2020 TCR Japan season. Two victories at the finale at Fuji were a worthy conclusion to a season in which Ryoji Hitotsuyama’s squad won three titles. Junior driver Takuro Shinohara secured the Saturday classification of the race series with five individual victories and a 55-point lead. Four heat wins in Sunday’s races earned the 26-year-old Japanese the victory in this category as well. Sunday’s victory was hard-fought: after a poor start from pole position, Shinohara lost the lead to a competitor, but overtook him again on the second lap to win by 4.4 seconds. In its 30th year of existence, Audi Team Hitotsuyama also won the team standings with a 68-point lead, in which a total of 14 teams collected points during the year. As a result, five drivers’ titles worldwide went to the Audi RS 3 LMS in the past season as well as 13 successes in other championship rankings. In total, Audi customers clinched 51 race victories with the entry-level touring car in 221 races worldwide this year.
