At the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Jamie Green clinched his tenth pole position in the DTM at the wheel of his Hoffmann Group Audi RS 5 DTM fielded by Audi Sport Team Rosberg. In qualifying for the second race on Sunday (start at 15:10 CEST) the Briton ousted António Félix da Costa in a BMW into second place on the grid by 0.002 seconds. “After the bad luck at Hockenheim and the below par day yesterday, this pole position feels very good,” said Jamie Green. “Many thanks to my team for the fantastic work!”
Second fastest Audi driver was Edoardo Mortara who took fifth position in the Castrol EDGE Audi RS 5 DTM entered by Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline. The entire grid was within six tenths of a second in an extremely close qualifying session.
