Indianapolis 8 Hour 2020
Audi R8 LMS #31 (Audi Sport Team Hardpoint WRT), Mirko Bortolotti/Spencer Pumpelly/Markus Winkelhock

Audi Sport Team Hardpoint WRT took seventh place in the final pole shootout at the second round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge with Mirko Bortolotti. The Italian shares the cockpit of the Audi R8 LMS in Indianapolis with Audi Sport driver colleague Markus Winkelhock and with Spencer Pumpelly. However, due to touching an opponent before in the single time trial when the driver trio had reached sixth place, the team got a penalty on the grid and dropped to ninth position. Meanwhile, the long-standing customer team GMG Racing from California is happy about a pole position. Team boss and driver James Sofronas, together with Elias Sabo and Andy Lee in the Audi R8 LMS GT4, took first place on the grid in the GT4 class in a strong field of ten competitors. The Indianapolis 8 Hour race will start on Sunday at 10 a.m. local time (4 p.m. CEST).
