Castrol EDGE Audi RS 5 DTM #48 (Audi Sport Team Abt), Edoardo Mortara
In the second free practice session, Edoardo Mortara was again the fastest driver in the Austrian DTM round at the Red Bull Ring. The Italian in the Castrol EDGE Audi RS 5 DTM of Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline, like the day before, at 1m 24.793s set the fastest time.
Only 0.066 seconds slower was leader of the standings Jamie Green in the Hoffmann Group Audi RS 5 DTM. The DTM leader was running on very old tires on Friday and on his first fresh set of tires was immediately in the top group on Saturday.
Nico Müller in the Audi Financial Services Audi RS 5 DTM in fourth place and Mike Rockenfeller in the Schaeffler Audi RS 5 DTM in position six completed Audi’s strong overall performance in the second free practice.
Due to a problem with the starter of his AUTO TEST Audi RS 5 DTM Timo Scheider was able to get into the practice session only after about 20 minutes and just do a total of 14 laps.
“My RS 5 DTM feels really good here,” Edoardo Mortara said after the second free practice. “I’m hoping to be in front in qualifying as well. So far, things have been going superbly here.”
