Castrol EDGE Audi RS 5 DTM #48 (Audi Sport Team Abt), Edoardo Mortara
Edoardo Mortara again was the fastest driver in the second free practice session of the DTM Festival at Hockenheim. The Italian from Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline in the Castrol EDGE Audi RS 5 DTM repeated his best time from the wet day before on a track that was now dry. With two fast laps, he bumped Jamie Green (Hoffmann Group Audi RS 5 DTM) to second place shortly before the end of the 45-minute practice.
“I’m very happy,” said Mortara. “It looks like we’ve got a very competitive car for wet and dry conditions. Now we need to make the most of this in qualifying. Finding an optimal lap in the 20 minutes is going to be difficult. But this is the same for everyone and I’m looking forward to it.”
Including Timo Scheider (AUTO TEST Audi RS 5 DTM) and Mattias Ekström (Red Bull Audi RS 5 DTM), four Audi drivers were in the top five.
Qualifying starts at 12 and will be broadcast live on dtm.com.
