Audi showed again a strong performance in the DTM’s second free practice session at the Lausitzring. Jamie Green in the Hoffmann Group Audi RS 5 DTM of Audi Sport Team Rosberg posted the fastest time at 1m 17.430s, even beating the track record set by Gary Paffett in 2013 by 33 thousandths of a second. The only problem: the Audi driver is extremely hoarse and can hardly communicate with his team even on the radio. “Still, I’m pretty optimistic for qualifying,” says Team Director Arno Zensen. “Things are looking pretty good for us at the moment.”

Leader of the standings Edoardo Mortara in the Castrol EDGE Audi RS 5 DTM of Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline caused two Audi cars to be in front. With seven Audi RS 5 DTM in the top ten, Audi Sport confirmed the strong picture from the previous day.

Only Adrien Tambay didn’t make it into the top ten. The Frenchman concentrated on a perfect race set-up because he has to tackle Saturday’s race from the last grid position following an engine change.

Qualifying starts at 15.00 CEST and the first of the two races at the Lausitzring at 18.08 CEST.
