FIA World Rallycross Championship 2018, Silverstone
Audi S1 EKS RX quattro #5 (EKS Audi Sport), Mattias Ekström

EKS Audi Sport appeared in strong form yet again at the fourth round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship (World RX) at Silverstone. After the first day, Mattias Ekström and Andreas Bakkerud hold second and fourth places respectively in their powerful 580 hp Audi S1 EKS RX quattro cars. Ekström set the best time in free practice in the morning and subsequently won his two qualification races. In first qualifying, only Petter Solberg (Volkswagen) was faster overall, in qualifying 2 Timmy Hansen (Peugeot). “It was a good first day,” said Ekström. “I feel comfortable in the car and we have made progress with the starts.” Team mate Bakkerud finished fifth and fourth on Saturday: “The main thing is that we are fighting at the front. In Q2 I wasn’t completely satisfied with my start, but the speed was good.” On Sunday morning two further qualifying heats are on the agenda, which are broadcast live on the FIA World Rallycross Championship Facebook profile. At 15:15 CEST, a live show starts on the EKS and Audi Sport Facebook profiles featuring the latest information and interviews before the decisive final race.
