FIA World Rallycross Championship 2018, Mettet

A musical challenge for Andreas Bakkerud and Mattias Ekström: Before round three of the FIA World Rallycross Championship (World RX) in Belgium the two drivers of EKS Audi Sport went on an excursion to the small town of Dinant just 20 km away from the race track. It is the birthplace of Adolphe Sax, who in 1840 created the first saxophone as a wind instrument to close the tonal gap between the clarinet and the oboe. In front of a historic backdrop, Ekström and Bakkerud were instructed in the difficult art of playing the saxophone by musician Cyril Thiry and subsequently tried their skills as street musicians. “There are more buttons on a saxophone than on the steering wheel of my Audi S1 EKS RX quattro,” said Ekström. “I think we’d better remain racers.”
