Audi Group: Challenging market environment shapes financial performance in the first nine months

The Audi Group's financial performance in the first nine months reflects the challenging macroeconomic situation. This includes a difficult market environment and expected restructuring expenses, for example as a result of a possible alternative use or a possible plant closure of the Brussels site. In the first nine months of 2024, revenue amounted to €46.3 billion, operating profit was €2.1 billion, and net cash flow amounted to €3.8 billion. The Progressive* brand group delivered a total of 1,251,381 vehicles from January to September, including 115,788 all-electric models. Audi is currently launching electric models and highly efficient combustion-engine vehicles in important core model series as part of a major product initiative. With the Audi Agenda, the company is also increasing its competitiveness and improving its processes and organizational structures.

Audi Group stabilizes earnings in the first half of the year despite major challenges

The Audi Group stabilized its financial performance in the second quarter of 2024. At the same time, Audi is putting numerous new models on the road. Following the world premiere of the new Audi A5, the second all-electric model on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), the Audi A6 e-tron, will follow at the end of July. At the same time, the Audi Group is working intensively on achieving its economic targets with the Performance Program 14. Revenue amounted to €30.9 billion in the first half of the year, down 9.5 percent on the strong prior-year figure. Operating profit amounted to €2.0 billion. The operating margin reached 6.4 percent and net cash flow €1.1 billion. The Brand Group Progressive** delivered 843,991 vehicles in the first six months. The share of electric vehicles (BEV) developed positively, with 76,657 models delivered (+ 1.3 percent).

Audi Group: Good performance in the first half of the year despite major challenges

After a strong start to the year, the Audi Group continued its successful trajectory in the first half of 2023. Between January and June, the brand group progressive delivered a total of 919,548 Audi, Bentley, and Lamborghini vehicles. This corresponds to an increase of more than 15.3 percent compared with the previous-year period. The Group increased its deliveries, particularly in Europe and the USA. Revenue grew by 14.4 percent to €34.2 billion, with an operating profit of €3.4 billion. At 10.0 percent, the operating return on sales was within the target corridor of 9 to 11 percent. Audi once again delivered a strong performance with fully electric models: The increase of over 50 percent to 75,647 vehicle deliveries proves that the Four Rings is on the right track with its systematic electrification strategy.

High demand for electric models and strong sales growth: Audi starts off year with impressive performance

The Audi Group has started off 2023 with strong delivery figures in nearly all core regions. In the first quarter, the brand group delivered some 422,000 Audi, Bentley, and Lamborghini vehicles – around 8 percent more than in the same period last year. The improved supply situation for semiconductors allowed the company to better meet the high demand for Audi models, in Europe and the USA in particular. Revenue increased to €16.9 billion. The operating profit climbed to €1.8 billion, while the operating margin of 10.8 percent was at the upper end of the strategic target corridor. The 43 percent increase in deliveries of electric cars demonstrates that the brand group is on the right track. In the company’s ongoing electrification journey, Audi has picked up considerable speed: In the largest model offensive in Audi’s history, the brand has announced the launch of around 20 new models between late 2023 and late 2025, more than ten of which will be all-electric.
