  Saying goodbye with a bang: Audi achieved an impressive one-two victory in the last race of its Le Mans prototypes in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). After clinching pole position in qualifying, the Audi R18 diesel hybrid sports car went on to claim a lights-to-flag victory in the 6 Hours of Bahrain. In addition, Lucas di Grassi set the fastest race lap. As a result, Audi has clinched the vice-championship titles in the manufacturers’ and drivers’ classifications.

• Emotional farewell for Audi from the FIA WEC
  Audi is ending an era. On Saturday, November 19, not only the current season of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) will end in Bahrain but also Audi ceasing its Le Mans sports prototype program after 18 years. Audi’s sports prototypes, from the Audi R8, the Audi R10 TDI and the Audi R15 TDI to the Audi R18, have shaped an entire racing era. They represent one of Audi Sport’s most successful periods and are symbols of the technical progress achieved by the brand with the four rings.

• Audi to celebrate ten years of TDI at Le Mans
  Audi has made history at Le Mans. In 2006, the premium brand became the first manufacturer to win what is arguably the world’s toughest endurance race with diesel power. 2016 marks the tenth anniversary of this achievement. Today, the TDI engine is more efficient than ever before and part of a highly complex diesel-hybrid powertrain. Never before has an Audi LMP1 race car been as powerful and fuel-efficient as the current Audi R18.

• Audi wins first WEC round at Silverstone
  Audi managed an opening round in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) that was made to measure. Following a riveting battle with Porsche at Silverstone, the new Audi R18 won at its first fielding in a race. Marcel Fässler/André Lotterer/Benoît Tréluyer (CH/D/F) secured pole position on Saturday and celebrated victory with a 46-second advantage on Sunday.
