The Audi A7 Sportback impresses with even more dynamic driving on the one hand and increased comfort on the other. Thanks to numerous chassis innovations, the Gran Turismo from Audi offers a new range between comfort and dynamics. The mild-hybrid technology, which is also new, makes the drive system even more efficient and at the same time more comfortable. Furthermore, the A7 will be hitting the road with updated engines. Chassis New chassis components enable the four-door Gran Turismo to perfect its synthesis of sportiness and long-distance comfort. The new Audi A7 Sportback handles more agilely and spontaneously yet is also safer and more comfortable. This has been achieved using innovative technologies such as dynamic all-wheel steering, damper control and controlled power distribution by the quattro sport differential. The central control of these system via the electronic chassis platform (ECP) make this synthesis of sportiness and comfort possible. With the standard progressive steering and the optional dynamic all-wheel steering and sport differential, the A7 achieves the handling characteristics of a compact sports car. The dynamic all-wheel steering combines the dynamic steering at the front axle, which works with strain wave gearing, with a separate rear axle steering system with a spindle drive. This makes it possible to independently adjust the steering angles at the front and rear axles. The dynamic all-wheel steering ends the conflict of aims between agile response and stability. At speeds up to 60 km/h (37.3 mph), the rear wheels are turned as much as five degrees in the opposite direction. This reduces the turning circle by up to 1.1 meters (3.6 ft), and the car becomes more agile in city traffic, when maneuvering and in tight switchbacks. At 60 km/h (37.3 mph) and above the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels.
Vorsprung durch Technik is not just a slogan, it is the core of the Audi brand. For decades, technical perfection has been the goal of vehicle development – which is a dynamic process. At present, technical fields of action are being re-evaluated and redefined. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner: “We are focusing on four core areas that we are working on intensively and that will define ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ in the future. These are design, the fields of user interface and user experience, the topic of 'quattro', i.e. traction and driving experience, and finally efficiency. With our latest generation of electric models, we are already clearly showing the way forward in efficiency.” In development, ‘software first’ applies. In the future, Audi will offer vehicles that have been developed around the software – also called software-defined vehicles (SDV).

Comfortable ride and dynamic handling in perfect harmony Testing based on years of experience and extensive data analysis Harmonious interaction of all driving systems for a typically Audi driving experience
The new Audi A6 Avant stands for first-class travel. Adaptive air suspension, all-wheel steering, MHEV plus, and other technologies make for a comfortable ride and dynamic handling. Engineers drive countless test kilometers to gather subjective impressions, which are then reconciled with objective evaluation criteria. The result: perfectly calibrated and balanced driving systems.
When you drive an A6 Avant, you feel it right away: this is a real Audi! Thanks to its extremely comfortable ride, the vehicle’s strengths are particularly apparent on longer journeys. The A6 Avant embodies the business class experience like no other model. Adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering for the quattro variants make a key contribution here, significantly improving maneuverability at low speeds and noticeably increasing precision and stability at high speeds. The standard and sports suspensions – both with steel springs – and the adaptive air suspension all feature a new tuning. The latter in particular lets the driver experience the wide range of options between Audidrive select modes comfort, balanced, and dynamic. “The A6 Avant focuses on combining a very smooth, comfortable ride with sporty handling,” says Peter Knauer, who is responsible for the development and validation of suspension characteristics at Audi. “Whether on long stretches of highway or winding roads, on even routes or bumpy surfaces, in stop-and-go traffic or when passing: the A6 Avant delivers a first-class driving feel in all situations,” Knauer adds. The result is a perfect blend of driving characteristics typical of Audi: precise, controlled, solid, connected, and well-balanced. This DNA can be experienced in every Audi, but the configuration varies in each model, depending on its concept.
The new Audi A6 Avant sets design standards and stands for quality and comfort in the premium full-size class like no other vehicle. It impresses with a cleverly designed body concept and lots of variability, offering plenty of space for everyday life as well as for demanding recreational activities. Whether on long trips or city driving, the adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering ensure a smooth ride and sporty handling in equal measure. The Audi A6 Avant models are based on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), powered by modern gasoline and diesel engines that are more efficient and dynamic thanks to the mild hybrid technology MHEV plus. Additional highlights include intuitive operating and infotainment concepts, new digital lighting technology, and intelligent driver assistance systems. Since 1977, the name Avant has stood for vehicles that combine sporty and elegant design, superior functionality, and outstanding driving dynamics. Forty-eight years after the debut of the Audi 100 Avant, the A6 Avant is ushering in a new era.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner: “We are writing the next chapter in our Avant history: The new Audi A6 unites an elegant and dynamic design with exceptional aerodynamics. Efficient yet high performance drive systems and cutting-edge suspension technology combine sportiness with a high level of comfort, making traveling in the A6 a first-class experience.” With this model, the company is also continuing its major product initiative that began in 2024. The modernization and rejuvenation of the product portfolio is part of the Audi Agenda, with which Audi is positioning itself for the future in the face of intensified competition. “With the A6, we are now renewing an important model series,” said Döllner. Like the new Q5 and A5, the new A6 Avant is also based on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC). The E³ 1.2 electronics architecture ensures modern connectivity, updates, and digitalization features in all new models.
