Dirk Arnold wurde 1965 in Berlin geboren.
Nach dem Studium in München begann er 1992 seine berufliche Karriere in der Technischen Entwicklung bei Audi. Von 1998 bis 2002 arbeitete er im Geschäftsbereich Marketing und Vertrieb für die Marke mit den Vier Ringen, zuletzt als Leiter Marketing Deutschland.
Danach wechselte er zu BMW, wo er ab 2007 verschiedene verantwortliche Funktionen in der Produkt- und Unternehmenskommunikation innehatte. Unter anderem war Arnold von 2011 bis 2014 Vice President Corporate Communications of the Americas der BMW Group. Zuletzt leitete er das Produktmanagement BMW i und e-Mobilität.
Seit 1. Juli 2018 ist Dirk Arnold Leiter Kommunikation der AUDI AG.
