The Audi World of Experience will welcome four top musicians to the Audi Forum Ingolstadt on November 13 at 8 p.m., with the Joscho Stephan Trio and violinist Costel Nițescu bringing modern Sinti swing to the stage for Django Reinhardt Night. For this special evening, the musicians will unite as “four of a kind” and give a contemporary twist to the legendary sound of jazz icons Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Tickets for the concert are on sale now.
With the “Django Reinhardt Night” at the Audi museum mobile, the Joscho Stephan Trio and violinist Costel Nițescu are set to deliver an extraordinary concert experience. The combination of violin and guitar inevitably evokes memories of the Hot Club de France, where Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli gave jazz its own distinctive language. The legendary sound is now being given a fresh, modern interpretation by these four exceptional performers.
Internationally renowned musicians
Jazz guitarist Joscho Stephan is one of the most important interpreters of modern jazz manouche. Born in Mönchengladbach, Germany, he began playing guitar at the age of six and won awards in competitions such as “Jugend musiziert” and “Jugend jazzt” in his youth. With his authentic tone, harmonic sophistication, and impressive solo technique, Stephan has garnered an excellent international reputation. He has performed with greats like Paquito D’Rivera, James Carter, and Tommy Emmanuel, and has appeared at renowned festivals and legendary jazz clubs. Stephan is joined by Sven Jungbeck (rhythm guitar) and Volker Kamp (double bass).
Internationally acclaimed violinist Costel Nițescu has achieved great success in both classical music and jazz. At just 16 years old, he played first violin in the National Radio Orchestra of Bucharest, Romania. Nițescu has since developed into a sought-after jazz violinist, whose elegant yet spirited style continues the tradition of Stéphane Grappelli. He has performed with numerous renowned artists, contributed to many recordings, and is now considered one of the leading figures in European jazz violin performance.
