The heart of the Audi Group beats at the Ingolstadt site. When the Auto Union GmbH was founded in Ingolstadt more than 70 years ago, it opened a new chapter in the history of the automobile manufacturer, which was previously based in the German state of Saxony. In buildings of the former Ingolstadt Fort, the company began producing spare parts, motorcycles, and DKW vehicles.
