A familiar face – The exterior of the Audi Elaine concept car debuted just a few months ago. In May 2017, Audi presented the celebrated Audi e-tron Sportback design study and technology demonstrator at Auto Shanghai in China. The IAA debutant shares its body line, electric drive and not least its distinctive exterior lighting with the precursor to the second production electric car from Audi.

Audi Elaine is an electric-powered SUV coupe that in a few short years will make highly automated driving possible – at times even without a driver on board. The driver parks the Audi in a designated area – the “handover zone” – and exits the vehicle. From there, the car drives automatically and unoccupied into a multistory parking garage offering a variety of services, such as a car wash, a package station, a gas station or a charging post. Thanks to Audi AI, the car does all of this itself.
At the 67th International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, Audi will present the new A8. With the concept cars Audi Elaine and Audi Aicon the brand with the four rings offers a look at the mobility of the future – regarding connectivity, piloted driving, the user experience, drive technology and design.
The car of the future doesn’t just offer great potential for saving time and improving comfort while on the road, in specially designated areas, so-called “Audi AI zones”, an Audi will soon be able to complete tasks autonomously while the driver works or enjoys some leisure time
Progress in three levels: Audi is showcasing its autonomous driving strategy at the IAA 2017. The new Audi A8 incorporates conditional automated driving at level 3 as standard. Two concept cars will also be demonstrating the Audi vision for level 4 and level 5. They also provide insights into the brand’s future Audi AI technologies. Other production models – from sporty to ultra-efficient – round off the motor show presence of the brand with the four rings. A8 L 55 TFSI: Fuel consumption in l/100 km: combined 7.8 – 7.5; CO2 emissions combined in g/km: 178 – 171. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions data as well as the efficiency classes are dependent on the choice of wheels and tyres
