The Audi Q5 has been one of the most popular SUVs in the B segment in Germany and Europe for more than 15 years. Audi is now presenting the even more modern and dynamic Q5 – the newest generation of its bestseller. It is the first SUV based on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) and is powered by even more efficient gasoline and diesel engines. The Audi Q5Sportback adds a sporty coupé variant to the Q5 family. In addition to the combustion models with MHEV plus technology, the SUV and Sportback will also be launched as plug-in hybrid models: the Q5 SUV e-hybrid quattro and Q5Sportback e-hybrid quattro. The Audi Q5Sportback combines characteristics typical of an SUV, such as versatility and a spacious interior, with an even more dynamic silhouette. The unmistakable design exudes sportiness with its characteristic sloping rear and elegant lines. The second generation of the Q5Sportback boasts a luggage capacity of up to 515 liters or up to 470 liters in the SQ5 Sportback. When the rear row of seats is folded down, the storage space in the Q5Sportback increases to up to 1,415 liters or 1,388 liters in the SQ5 Sportback. The Q5Sportback has a towing capacity of up to 2,400 kilograms. Sporty design thanks to dynamic, sloping roofline The design of the new Audi Q5Sportback is sleeker compared to its predecessor. The broad Singleframe is high and flanked by vertical, functional air curtains. The razor-sharp, sculptural headlights lend the car a honed look. A large air intake below the Singleframe houses the sensors. A dynamic rising line runs from above the rocker panel across the wheel arches to the rear bumper, giving the vehicle a dynamic appearance even when stationary.

The Q5Sportback 50 TFSI equattro features a combined output of 220 kW (279 PS), while the Q5Sportback 55 TFSI equattro has an output of 270 kW (367 PS). The lithium-ion battery in each model has a net capacity of 14.4 kWh – enough for an electric range of up to 61 km (38 mi).

Audi is expanding its selection of plug-in hybrid models by launching sales of the Q5SportbackTFSI equattro on European markets. The elegant SUV coupé is rolling off the assembly line in two output levels: The Q5Sportback 50 TFSI equattro delivers 220 kW (279 PS) of performance, the Q5Sportback 55 TFSI equattro delivers 270 kW (367 PS). On both models, the lithium-ion battery can store 14.4 kWh of net power – enough for an electric range of up to 61 kilometers (37.9 mi) according to the WLTP (71 kilometers (44.1 mi) under the NEDC). The sister model, Audi Q5TFSI equattro, which has already been on the market since 2019, is now being equipped with the even more powerful battery.

Market launch: first half of 2021 The Q5Sportback and the SQ5 Sportback TDI roll off the assembly line at the San José Chiapa plant in Mexico. They can be ordered now and will be launched on international markets in the first half of 2021. For the Chinese market, the CUV will be built in CKD production at the Changchun plant.
