New benchmark in the compact class: the Audi Q3

The Audi Q3 has been a well-established bestseller in the premium compact segment for more than ten years. Now the third generation is setting new standards in several respects. The modern SUV’s exterior exudes self-confidence and emotion. Numerous innovative features turn the Audi Q3 into a digital companion. They provide a first-class user experience and also ensure greater comfort and safety for the driver and other road users thanks to many assistance systems. In addition to the well-balanced suspension, the digitalization of light also enhances customer benefits. A high degree of personalization and adaptive, high-resolution light functions are made possible with the new micro-LED technology in the digital Matrix LED headlights. Another feature of the new Audi Q3 is an efficient, partially electrified combustion engine with mild-hybrid technology and a plug-in hybrid model with an electric range of up to 119 kilometers (preliminary figures).

One millionth Audi Q3 made in Győr

Audi Hungaria has reached a special production milestone. Since the start of series production of the Audi Q3 in 2011, over two million vehicles have been sold worldwide – one million of which were manufactured at the Hungarian plant in Győr. The model’s success story continues with the new Audi Q3 making its debut in summer 2025.

Audi Hungaria expands its solar park by 160,000 square meters

Today, Gábor Berényi, owner and Managing Director of Smart Solar Kft., and Michael Breme, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt., signed an agreement to further expand the solar park of the Győr-based company. The company built 160,000 square meters of photovoltaic equipment on the roof of its logistics center in 2020. A further 85,000 square meters of solar panels will be installed on the roof of the vehicle assembly hall and around 75,000 square meters on the green space of the site.

Audi Hungaria’s performance was impacted by site-specific challenges in the fiscal year 2023. Last year, the Győr site of the company with the four rings produced 1,660,425 powertrains, including 114,058 electric drives. A total of 177,775 vehicles (including SKD production) rolled off the production line in Győr. In 2023, the company generated a sales volume of 9.102 billion euros* and invested a total of 343 million euros*. As the largest employer in the region, Audi Hungaria employed 11,663 colleagues at the end of last year. Audi Hungaria sets new standards in the production of electric motors for the PPE

Audi builds the electric motors for the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) at the world’s largest powertrain plant in Győr, Hungary. The drive systems will initially be used in the Audi Q6 e-tron series, which is produced in Ingolstadt. Győr manufactures the PPE drive systems on an area of around 15,000 square meters (approx. 160,000 sq ft), in addition to producing stator and transmission components and assembling the axles. Csaba Imre Benke, Head of the Electric Drive Systems Product Segment in Győr and responsible for the production of the PPE drive systems, explains how Audi is setting new standards with the production of electric drive systems for the PPE.

The manufacture of the Audi Q6 e-tron series is a collaboration across locations. The electrically powered SUV marks the first time the brand with the four rings has produced an all-electric Audi model at its headquarters in Ingolstadt. Audi begins production of electric motors for the PPE in Győr

A new chapter in drive production at Audi is beginning in the Hungarian city of Győr, as the company commences manufacture of electric motors for the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The newly developed electric motors will be used for the first time in the Audi Q6 e-tron series. Production of the first fully electric Audi model is scheduled to start at the Ingolstadt headquarters at the end of the year with the PPE-based model. Among other provisions, the company has set up its own battery assembly facility in Ingolstadt in preparation for this step. In Győr, Hungary, Audi Hungaria produces stators and transmission components in a completely new 15,000-square-meter production area, where the axles for the PPE are also assembled. Product testing also takes place in Győr.

Audi Hungaria: production of the 2 millionth Audi in Győr is finished

30-year-old Audi Hungaria has reached another significant milestone: today the two millionth car rolled off its production line. The jubilee car, a Karat beige Audi RS Q3 Sportback¹, will soon set out to its first owner in Germany. The 400 hp car’s 2.5-litre TFSI engine, which has won the prestigious “International Engine of the Year” award nine times in a row, was also built at Audi Hungaria.

Audi Hungaria closed the 2022 fiscal year with solid key figures in spite of all challenges. At the world's biggest powertrain plant, 1,677,545 units were built, while 171,134 cars (including vehicles for SKD production Brazil) rolled off the production line in vehicle production. Last year, the company generated a total sales volume of 8.346 billion euros* and accomplished investments worth a total volume of 220 million euros*. Thus since the foundation of the company, the total investment volume at the site has reached 12.172 billion euros*, making Audi Hungaria the largest investor in the Hungarian automotive industry. As the largest employer in the region and the most attractive employer in Hungary, Audi Hungaria employed 11,957 colleagues at the end of last year.

Audi Hungaria celebrates its 30th anniversary and looks back on a real success story. The company located in Győr developed into the world's largest powertrain plant and was the first manufacturer in Hungary to produce premium category cars. Audi Hungaria’s Technical Development delivers product developments both for Audi and the Volkswagen Group. In addition to production, the company provides a wide range of services for other brands of the Group, relying on the extensive know-how of its employees. Since its foundation, the company has made a total of almost 12 billion euros in investments, making Audi Hungaria one of the largest investors in the Hungarian industry. Audi Hungaria now employs almost 12,000 people and provides a livelihood for another 50,000 or so through its service providers and suppliers. The company is one of the largest and the most attractive employer in Hungary.
