One-two finish for the Audi R8 LMS ultra at Nogaro

Successful season start for the Audi R8 LMS ultra and the BelgianAudi Club Team WRT: the Audi drivers claimed a one-two finishon the opening race weekend of the FIA GT Series at Nogaro(France). Edward Sandström and Frank Stippler won the race onEaster Monday from their team mates Laurens Vanthoor andStéphane Ortelli. Although Nikolaus Mayr-Melnhof/René Rastcrossed the finish line first in the team’s third Audi, theysubsequently received a 30-second penalty because the enginewas not completely switched off during the pit stop. The duo didhowever, finish second in the previous day’s qualifying race.
