Metal 3D printing at Audi

In the Metal 3D Printing Center Audi’s toolmaking and technological development experts manufacture steel and aluminum parts from metal powder using the laser melting process. In principle, all metals that can be welded are suitable for 3D printing: tool steel as well as aluminum or titanium. By means of metal 3D printing, objects can be produced with freeform highly complex geometries that would be very difficult or impossible to manufacture with other production methods.
