Stefan Dreyer - Spokesperson of the management board and CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of Audi Formula Racing Gm

Stefan Dreyer was born in Stuttgart in 1973. He completed his mechanical engineering studies at Ulm University of Applied Sciences, where he wrote his thesis at Audi. He began his career at Audi Sport in 1999, starting as an engineer for sports and special engines. A lifelong motorsport enthusiast, Dreyer eventually rose to become the head of development for all motorsport projects. Throughout his career, he played a key role in winning numerous races and titles in Audi’s Le Mans, DTM, Formula E, and Dakar Rally programs, gaining extensive technical and organizational experience across the various motorsport disciplines.

Possessing extensive technical expertise, Stefan Dreyer played a crucial role in the planning of Audi’s Formula 1 project from the very beginning. He led negotiations with the FIA, the governing body for world motorsport, regarding the new technical and sporting regulations set to take effect in 2026. Through his efforts, he established a vital foundation for Audi’s entry into Formula 1.

As the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg, he is responsible for the technical development of Audi’s power unit. Since May 2025, Dreyer has also been the spokesperson of the AFR management board.
