Audi opened its second charging hub in Tokyo, the world’s largest metropolitan region, on April 24, 2025. The company is thus further expanding its fast-charging network and launching its eighth charging hub worldwide.
Audi is expanding the portfolio of the new Audi A6 with two plug-in hybrid models that combine maximum efficiency and superior comfort with powerful performance. Both the A6 Avant e-hybrid quattro and the A6 Sedan e-hybrid quattro can be ordered in two power levels: 220 kW and 270 kW system output. The new generation of high-voltage battery in the plug-in hybrids has around 45 percent more capacity than its predecessor. As a result, 25.9 kWh (net 20.7 kWh) of power is available for electric driving.
Audi is aligning its Formula 1 project even more consistently with the synergies and working methods of a factory team. As Head of Audi F1 Project, Mattia Binotto will be responsible for development activities at the Hinwil and Neuburg an der Donau facilities, as well as at the future technical center in England.
AUDI AG’s financial performance in the first quarter of 2025 reflects the ongoing challenges of the overall situation. Contributing factors here include the global economic downturn, intensified competition and political uncertainties. At the same time, deliveries of electric cars from the Audi brand rose by around 30 percent compared to the same period last year. Revenue in the first three months of 2025 was 15.4 billion euros, up 12.4 percent on the figure for the same period last year. Operating profit totaled 537 million euros. Net cash flow amounted to EUR -61 million.
In European touring car racing, an Audi Sport customer team put in a convincing performance at the highest European level. At the TCR Europe season opener in Portugal, Team Clairet Sport took the lead of the standings after a victory. Further successes for the Audi RS 3 LMS as well as the GT3 and GT4 versions of the Audi R8 LMS on several continents rounded off the results in April.
China continues to lead the way in the transition to electric mobility. At 2025 Auto Shanghai, Audi is showcasing the models that will bring the company to the forefront of this trend locally and globally, while also remaining a strong player in the market for combustion-engine vehicles. The lineup displayed by Audi and its two local partners FAW and SAIC consists of 19 models. Among them are the Audi A5L, the A5L Sportback, the Q5L, and the A6L e-tron as well as the AUDI E5 Sportback.
