Prince of Sweden honors Mattias Ekström

A great honor for Mattias Ekström: The Audi factory driver, who is competing in the World Rallycross Championship this season, was presented with the Prince Bertil Medal by Prince Carl Philip. With this accolade the Royal Automobile Club of Sweden recognized Ekström’s successes in the 2016 season when he sensationally became World Rallycross Champion with his own team, EKS. “It was an honor for me to meet Prince Carl Philip. The medal fills me with pride and will always be a great memento of a fantastic season,” Ekström said after his visit to the palace in Stockholm. He had previously received the medal in 2008, following his second DTM title with Audi.
