After completing development including the first test runs of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II last year, the latest evolution is now completing its first races. Within a week, there are races in Australia and in Europe. The debut in the southern hemisphere went according to plan: The race car remained unbeaten in two races in the GT World Challenge Australia. On the Phillip Island circuit, Audi Sport customer racing scored a one-two and a one-two-three victory. Liam Talbot/Chaz Mostert prevailed in the first one-hour race by six seconds against last year’s champion Yasser Shahin and Audi Sport driver Christopher Mies. The second race was won by Shahin/Mies with a two-second advantage over Mostert/Talbot. Third place went to Tony Bates/David Reynolds. With 43 points each, Mies, Shahin, Mostert and Talbot share the lead in the Pro-Am standings. In addition, there were two wins each for customers in the Am classification and the Trophy category. The race car will then make its debut at the first round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie on the Nordschleife on the last weekend in March. Audi Sport Team Car Collection will be contesting the 4-hour race on March 26 with Christopher Haase and Nico Müller in an Audi R8 LMS. In addition, other Audi Sport customers will be represented at the NLS season opener.
