Steffen Bamberger

Steffen Bamberger, born in 1976 in Bad Mergentheim, Germany, studied mechanical engineering at the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences.

In 2003, he began his career in transmission development at Getrag in the USA.

In 2004, Steffen joined AUDI AG, initially holding various positions in engine construction. His numerous roles included Project Manager for electric turbochargers and concepts and Head of Applications. In that capacity, he was responsible for electric power compressors used in the first SQ7 TDI. He subsequently managed all TDI applications as part of the 2018 WLTP implementation. Steffen also coordinated the testing and validating of various Audi models, including the Audi R8. In 2018, he was appointed Head of Whole Vehicle Testing, a position he held for two years.

In 2020, Steffen moved to Audi Sport GmbH as Head of Whole Vehicle Development. On February 1, 2021, he became Head of Technical Development at Audi Sport GmbH. Since joining Audi Sport GmbH, he has been responsible for the design and features of the latest RS models, ensuring the continuous implementation of Audi’s DNA in RS products.
