Successful season opener in the DMV GTC at the Hockenheimring: All podium places went to Audi customer teams with the Audi R8 LMS. At Taupo, New Zealand, Audi Sport customer racing’s car celebrated a victory as well.

Audi R8 LMS GT3

Three victories at Hockenheim: In the DMV GTC season opener, Audi Sport’s customers made a strong showing with the Audi R8 LMS. Spirit Race Team Uwe Alzen Automotive won the first race at Hockenheim with Uwe Alzen ahead of Vincent Kolb from Phoenix Racing and Dennis Busch from Team Twin Busch Motorsport. In the second round, the Audi R8 LMS scored another one-two-three result. This time Dennis Marschall from HCB-Rutronik Racing was victorious. Second place again went to Phoenix Racing with Vincent Kolb ahead of the Audi R8 LMS from Twin Busch Motorsport driven by Marc Busch. Together brothers Dennis and Marc Busch had spearheaded an Audi one-two-three-four result in the Dunlop 60 race at the beginning of the race weekend, having scored victory ahead of Vincent Kolb and the HCB Rutronik Racing duo of Stanislav Minsky/Marco Seefried, and Dietmar Haggenmüller and Uwe Alzen.

Racing success in New Zealand: Neil Foster and Jonny Reid celebrated an uncontested victory in the North Island Endurance Series season opener at Taupo in New Zealand. The two title defenders of the New Zealand Endurance Championship from Team International Motorsport had started the race from pole position in their Audi R8 LMS. 

Audi R8 LMS GT4

Podium in the United States: In round three of the Pirelli GT4 America West season at Laguna Seca, Audi’s customer team Rearden Racing clinched a podium finish. Vesko Kozarov and his teammate, Jeff Burton, drove their Audi R8 LMS GT4 to third overall, set the fastest race lap and were the best team in the AM category. 

Audi RS 3 LMS (TCR)

Podium finish at Mugello: Audi’s customer team AC Motorsport in round two of the 24H Series finished runner-up in the TCR class with the Audi RS 3 LMS. Vincent Radermecker, Stéphane Perrin and James Kaye after twelve hours and a total of 300 race laps crossed the finish line with a 26-second gap separating them from the class winners.

Position two at Hockenheim: Team T3 Motorsport clinched a trophy in the DMV NES 500 race at Hockenheim. As the best drivers of a TCR race car Rick Hartmann/Tim Hendrikx/Maximilian Paul in an Audi RS 3 LMS after four hours of racing crossed the finish line in second position overall in a field of 35 entrants. 

Top 3 result in Brazil: In the Endurance Brasil racing series, Audi Sport’s customer team MC Tubarão scored a podium finish in the season opener at Curitiba. After four hours of racing, the Audi RS 3 LMS driven by Henry Visconde, Márcio Basso and Guilherme Salas crossed the finish line third in class.
