In the final top qualifying session for the Nürburgring 24 Hours, Mirko Bortolotti was the fastest driver of an Audi R8 LMS. The Italian reached eleventh place on the grid in the number 3 Audi Sport Team Car Collection car in Top Qualifying 2 in changing conditions on the Nordschleife. He will tackle the race with his Audi Sport team mates Christopher Haase and Markus Winkelhock on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. after Robin Frijns was unable to compete due to a flu-like infection. Audi Sport driver Frank Stippler sits immediately behind him on the grid. The two-time race winner achieved twelfth position in the privately entered number 5 Audi R8 LMS of Phoenix Racing. Less than two tenths of a second behind is the number 1 of Audi Sport Team Phoenix, driven by Frédéric Vervisch. 15th place goes to Christopher Mies in the Audi R8 LMS number 29 of Audi Sport Team Land.
