2017 Audi R8 LMS Cup with ten races and new features
The 2017 Audi R8 LMS Cup will enter its sixth season in 2017 with a number of new features. They include the return of the “push-to-pass” function that enables the driver to temporarily use more engine power. Amateurs will be given this opportunity in the races twice as often as pros. In addition, the winner of the amateur classification can look forward to a place on the grid in the 2018 24-hour race at Spa. Audi Sport customer racing has scheduled the events on the calendar of the Pan-Asian one-make cup so that the teams will have the opportunity to participate in the new Blancpain GT Series Asia with their Audi R8 LMS cars as well. The Audi R8 LMS Cup season will open at Sepang (Malaysia) on May 6/7, 2017. In total, five events, each featuring two races, are planned in Malaysia, Japan, Korea and China.
