“The Next Leap in Mobility” – start of the Audi Urban Future Award 2014

Four fundamental breaks with the past show the way to the future of urban mobility. This conclusion arises from research and dialogue with urban planners, architects, sociologists and mobility experts in the context of the Audi Urban Future Initiative. With the theme “The Next Leap in Mobility”, four interdisciplinary teams are entering this year’s Audi Urban Future Award to validate theses about urban change in four cities: Berlin, Boston, Mexico City and Seoul. The competition entries relate to specific current urban development projects. A jury with an international composition will present the Audi Urban Future Award 2014 in October to the best proposal.

Design Miami: Filling up on creativity

Fill it up, pay, get on your way. It probably won’t be that easy with electric cars, since charging takes longer than filling up with gasoline or diesel. At the Design Miami show (December 1 to December 5), Audi takes a playful look at this aspect: What can drivers do in the meantime? What amenities will charging stations of the future have to offer?

Audi design – technology in shape

If the expression “Audi design” makes you think of stylish cars, you’re almost on the right track. But note the “almost”. Perhaps you should go to the district of Schwabing in Munich and look for a former car repair shop on Kurfürstenstraße. What is developed here can be summed up by the term “lifestyle articles” – for example, watches, bags, bicycles and any other Audi products that bear the impressive name “Audi design”. Because it’s all about design, and not only when we’re talking about vehicles.

    The square face of time

Audi design stands for the combination of cutting-edge technology and innovative design. The new collection of top-quality watches developed under the eye of Audi’s Head of Design Walter de'Silva is also true to this principle. The centrepiece of this collection is the Audi design Square Chronograph. The Audi Design team set out not only to develop a particularly elegant watch; they set out to make their own mark on time. The result was the Audi design Square Chronograph, a visual and technological masterpiece. It bears the unmistakeable Audi fingerprint. If you wear the Square Chronograph, you have a real piece of Audi on your wrist.

Audi design – technology in shape

If the expression “Audi design” makes you think of stylish cars, you’re almost on the right track. But note the “almost”. Perhaps you should go to the district of Schwabing in Munich and look for a former car repair shop on Kurfürstenstraße. Here, where car mechanics once toiled behind a rather modest gateway, designers work in an area of about 800 square metres on inspirational ideas for the Audi, SEAT and Lamborghini brands. But not all of these ideas have to do with bodywork, wheels and an engine. Many of them will go on to tick, many of them can be packed or carried and you will even be able to travel on many of them one day. In short, what is developed here can be summed up by the term “lifestyle articles” – for example, watches, bags, bicycles and any other Audi products that bear the impressive name “Audi design”. Because it’s all about design, and not only when we’re talking about vehicles.
